Kootenai Drains is a one-man drain cleaning business owned by Chris Desorcy in Libby, Montana. This page explains what information I collect, what I do with it, and what I don't do with it. Short version: I use your info to get your drain fixed and get paid. I don't sell it to anyone.

What I collect

When you call, text, or email me, I get whatever you share so I can do the job. Usually that's:

Your name, phone number, and email address
The address of the job
What's going on with your drain, and any photos you send
Payment details when the job is done

I may also take photos or sewer camera video of your pipes while I work. That's how I show you what I found and prove the line is clear.

How I use it

To call or text you back, give you a price, and tell you when I'll get there
To do the work and send you a bill or receipt
To keep a record of the job, in case you call me back about the same line
To follow up after the job, like asking if everything's still draining fine

Who I share it with

I don't sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever. I only share it when I have to:

Card payments. If you pay by card, your card details go through a payment processor. I don't keep your full card number.
People who help me run the business, like my bookkeeper or accountant, and only what they need.
When the law requires it, like a valid court order.
When you ask me to, like sending camera footage to your landlord, a home inspector, or your real estate agent.

Photos and camera video

Footage of your pipes is yours to have. Just ask and I'll send it. I may use photos or video from jobs on this website or social media to show the kind of work I do. When I do, I keep out anything that shows who you are or where you live, unless you've told me that's OK.

This website

This site has no contact forms, no logins, and no ad trackers. I don't set cookies to follow you around the internet. A few things do load from other companies, and they have their own privacy rules:

Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare records basic technical info such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site fast and safe from attacks.
Google. The fonts and the service area map load from Google, and the review links go to Google Maps. Google may see your IP address when those load.
Links to other sites. The local businesses I link to run their own websites. I'm not responsible for what they collect.

The "Share Chris" button uses your phone or browser's built-in share tool. I don't see who you share it with.

How long I keep it

I keep job records as long as I need them for the business, for taxes, and in case you call me back about the same drain. When I no longer need something, I delete it.

Keeping it safe

I keep your info on my own phone and business accounts, protected with passwords. No system is perfect, but I treat your info the way I'd want mine treated.

Your choices

You can ask me what info I have about you, ask me to fix it, or ask me to delete it. Call or email and I'll take care of it. The only exception is records I'm required to keep for taxes or the law.

Kids

This site is for adults dealing with their home or business plumbing. I don't knowingly collect info from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle your info, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
