Terms of Service
Last updated: October 31, 2026
These are the ground rules for working with Kootenai Drains and using this website. Kootenai Drains is owned and run by Chris Desorcy in Libby, Montana. When this page says "I" or "me," that's Chris. When you call me out or use this site, you're agreeing to these terms.
The work I do
I clean drains, sewer lines, and septic lines. That includes snaking, hydro jetting, root cutting, and sewer camera inspections. I'm not a general plumber. If I find a problem that's outside what I do, like a broken pipe that needs to be dug up and replaced, I'll tell you what I found and you can decide who to call.
Pricing
- I look at the problem and give you a flat price before I start. You decide if I go ahead.
- Calls after 6 p.m. cost more. I'll tell you the exact rate on the phone before I head your way.
- If I find something bigger once I'm in the line, I stop and talk to you before doing more. You decide. No surprise charges.
Payment
I take cash, checks, and major credit and debit cards. Payment is due upon completion of the work, unless we've set up business billing ahead of time. A bounced check or declined card means you still owe the full amount, plus any fee my bank charges me.
Your part
- You own the property, or you have the owner's OK for me to work on it. Renters, please check with your landlord first.
- You'll give me safe access to the drains, cleanouts, and septic lid, and keep pets and kids clear of the work area.
- You'll tell me about anything I should know, like old pipe, recent repairs, or lines that have given you trouble before.
My guarantee
If I missed something on a job, call me. I'll come back and fix it free. That covers my work. It doesn't cover:
- New clogs from things that go down the drain after I leave, like grease, wipes, or toys
- Roots growing back over time. Roots always come back eventually, and I'll tell you how often to have the line checked.
- Pipes that are cracked, collapsed, sagging, or rotted out before I got there
- Frozen lines that freeze again
- Septic tanks or drainfields that are full or failing
Old and damaged pipes
A lot of homes around here have old cast iron, clay, or Orangeburg pipe. Snaking and jetting are safe for pipe in decent shape. Pipe that's already rotted, cracked, or barely holding together can fail during cleaning, because the clog was the only thing holding it together. If I see that risk, I'll tell you before I start. I'm not responsible for pipe that fails because it was already in bad shape.
Camera inspections
My sewer camera shows what's inside the line at the time I run it. It's a good look, not a promise about the future. It can't see everything, like the outside of the pipe or spots past where the camera can reach. A camera report is not a full home inspection.
Liability
I'm fully insured, and I take care with your home. If I damage something through my own mistake, tell me and I'll make it right. I'm not responsible for damage that was already there, damage caused by the condition of your plumbing, or water damage from a backup that happened before I arrived. My total responsibility for any job won't be more than what you paid me for that job, except where Montana law says otherwise.
Scheduling and arrival times
I give honest arrival times and I'll call or text if I'm running behind. Weather, road conditions, and emergencies can still slow me down, especially in a Montana winter. If you need to cancel, please call as soon as you can.
Using this website
- The drain care tips on this site are general info to help you understand what's going on. Every drain is different. When in doubt, call me.
- Prices, service areas, and details on the site can change. What I tell you on the phone is what counts.
- The words, photos, and logo on this site belong to Kootenai Drains. Please don't copy them for your own business.
- Links to other websites, like Google and local businesses, are there to help. I don't control those sites.
Disagreements
If you're not happy, call me first. Most things get sorted out with one phone call. These terms follow Montana law, and any legal dispute will be handled in Lincoln County, Montana.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms now and then. The date at the top shows the latest version. The terms in place on the day of your job are the ones that apply to that job.
